Terms of Service

Agreement

By accessing or using RenBase ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

RenBase provides an API platform for ingesting, indexing, and querying unstructured data. We grant you a non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with your subscription plan and these terms.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your API keys and login credentials secure. Do not share them. You are liable for all activity under your account, whether authorized by you or not. Notify us immediately at security@renbase.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

Your content

You retain full ownership of any data you upload to RenBase. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and index it solely to provide the Service. We do not use your content for any other purpose, including model training.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process the content you provide. Do not upload content that is illegal, violates third-party rights, or contains malware.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
  • Use the Service to build a competing product
  • Circumvent rate limits or access controls
  • Interfere with the Service's infrastructure or other users' access
  • Use the Service for any activity that violates applicable law

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with reasonable notice where possible.

Availability and support

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance windows are communicated via our status page. For paid plans, our SLA defines uptime commitments and credit policies. The SLA is part of your subscription agreement and takes precedence over this section where they conflict.

Pricing and payment

Free-tier usage is subject to the limits listed on our pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually, depending on your selection. Prices may change with 30 days' written notice. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect.

Overdue invoices may result in service suspension after 14 days. We will notify you before any suspension.

Intellectual property

The Service, its design, documentation, and underlying technology are owned by RenBase. Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited license granted above.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RenBase's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or data loss.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RenBase from any claims, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these terms.

Data Processing Agreement

If you process personal data through RenBase, our Data Processing Agreement (DPA) applies. The DPA is available on request and forms part of these terms. For a copy, email legal@renbase.com.

Termination

You can close your account at any time from the dashboard or by contacting support. On termination, we delete your content and personal data within 30 days. Provisions that by nature should survive termination (liability, indemnification, intellectual property) remain in effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the member state in which RenBase is incorporated. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance.
